Welcome to the Clinical Sensory Cognition Lab!
 
We are a non-profit research group, working towards better understanding of the brain mechanisms that are important in sensory perception, including the mechanisms involved in conditions such as tinnitus and migraine. Our aim is to advance our knowledge of these common conditions, which will allow us to develop more effective treatments.
 
Our team is based at the Newcastle University Medical School. We also sometimes run collaborative projects with the Interdisciplinary Tinnitus Research Group in Zürich, Switzerland, and the Human Brain Research Laboratory in Iowa, USA.
 
Our studies are conducted with the help of volunteers with and without tinnitus, and currently involve non-invasive brain imaging with techniques such as electroencephalography (EEG), online sound therapy tests, and neuromodulation techniques such as repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS).
